hello,

i have recently smudged Freyja's house for her and we thought it might be a good place to have a chat about it!

Im pretty new to placing posts and stuff so please bear with me if i dont make much sense or i ramble away!!

Firstly i would like to say if anyone has any comments, tips or advice please post them! all wisdom is very welcome!!

Smudging is where i use a sage smudge bundle and perform a ritual of cleansing rooms or a whole house, ridding the space of any negative or stale energy with the smoke from the sage bundle. Alot of folks dont really realise that even just a tiny bit of stress or worry will leave a little dusty blob of energy in the corners of your space and smudging is just like an energy spring clean!!

When i smudge a space doesnt matter if its a whole house or just one room i feel it instantly lifts the space. Corny as it sounds i feel as if you have knocked the walls down and your standing outside!

I personally use a ritual i came across in a book, i have tweaked and adjusted it so it now feels like its right for me. When i am smudging i use sage smudge sticks as i feel they are the right tool for me to use, i have tried other things (incense etc) but nothing felt as good as the sage.

I dont know what everyone elses experiences have been if you have tried it or not, but i completely recommend it!

I went out to smooch Fairies baby boy at a friend's house and left her to it. When I got home my cats were all smiling and happy and the house felt like it had more space. Like every bit of space was available for energy to move around in. The worries and stresses lying around had been cleared away. Our home feels lovely and light, very comfortable. We weren't unhappy or anything like that but it just feels light and airy. We feel like our thoughts are much clearer too. Its great!!! . I don't think you could understand until its been done to your own home.

PS Fairie forgot to mention that she requires payment in choc chip cookies or (her personal favourite) her own weight in chocolate

I cleanse my house usually once a month on the waning moon. I use salt, water and then incense. And, I totally agree, it leaves the house feeling brighter, lighter and cleaner. The 'stuff' we can bring home from work and all the heavy energy that can accumulate from being stressed, not feeling well, etc. can really affect the energies of our houses.
Then on the waxing moon I do a house blessing and it makes the house lovely.

arwyn - i got the ritual from Magic Spells for a Happy Life (Essentials) by Cassandra Eason although i have amended it so it feels more right for me. i do feel a bit wary about using spells or rituals straight from books so i usually personalise them first. however this one has worked brilliantly everytime i have used it, whether on my own house or someone elses! i will post the original ritual out of the book and then you can see what you think yourself!!! can i do that as long as i make clear its someone elses work or it that a copyright violation?

freyja - those cookies were amazing. i say were cos they didnt last long!! even squirty tried to pinch one from his daddy! my mum says either dont make them again or she will have the broken ones, cos when a biscuit breaks all the calories fly away!!! a theory i have lived by for ages!!!
