Going off the description that CrystalArianhod gave, made me wonder....
Why and how have you chosen your name on Magicka?
I'll start. Mine is simple, Cassandra was always telling me how she was waiting for her dark prince to arrive, and then I came running! It has been a nickname for me ever since.....
I hope there are better stories out there than mine though!
Blessings,
DarkPrincipe

Mine's pretty boring too...just a nickname I've had since forever! My surname is Days so it came from that.

From "Loraine" came the nickname 'Raine" and I simply elaborated on that. I also have a Magickal Name, but I only one who knows it is my hubby (we're a two-person coven) and the God/dess.

I signed on as Amethyst mainly because at the time I was learning about gemstones and it happens to be my birthstone. Now THAT sounds pretty boring and uninspired But I like it, it works for me.

My totem is the raven (as is my clan totem) and I've also always been drawn to the Japanese fox god/goddess Inari. Inari is gender ambiguous and sometimes appears as a man, or a woman, or both, and is in charge of prosperity, rice and of course foxes and sensuality.
So 'Ravenari' = Raven - Inari

My full magickal name is Rae'ya Earthmare.
Rae'ya just sort of came to me without me really looking for it - I can't even put my finger on exactly when it happened, I just realised one day that was my name. I used numerology to work out the spelling (plus I like the way it looks!)
Earthmare is pretty self explanatory: Earth- because that is the element I resonate most deeply with. I'm a Virgo, which is an Earth sign but I also posess a lot of personality traits that are typically considered to be ruled by Earth, and I just feel a deeper connection with Earth than the other elements. I'm also an Ox in the Chinese Zodiac, which ties in a bit with the other reasons. -mare comes from the fact that my totem animal is Horse, and I'm a woman.
I'm interested to see what the others say...

Greetings,
I always did find it interesting to hear about how others came to be known by a certain name...Some people pick something just for the net..others have a name given them by others that just stuck...some combine the two..I think many kinda end up having to 'make-up' a name based on their personal nicknames from real life etc simply because there are so many people using the net...many who have more then one account even on the same site...don't ask me why..but I know it happens! So..it can be difficult to remain true to the name you resonate with here online. Me..it's usually easy. Kridina is my name as said by a 4 year old. I spell it the way it sounded to me at the time when the child spoke it. It is EXTREMELY rare for this name to be taken on sites I am interested in being a part of. I have run a search on it out of curiosity and about the only thing I see about the same spelling seems to be a german reference. Or another language..i don't know..I don't read the language I see 'kridina' mentioned with. Not that it matters to me..I am what I am. My name dosn't define me. I define my name.

FlameQuill was a name I came up for a story character. This was going to be the name of my main character's quill. The quill was said to have a consciousness and instead of being made by a feath was a made bye a burning flame. When asked the quill would transform into a sword. =D Wow that was about four years ago.
The name simply shows two of my passions which is why I chose the name for the main charcter's quill (the main character represented me). I love fire and I love to write. It's who I am, and it's...been apart of me. Since I was a kid, I've realized after I chose the name that it is the name of my inner protector, the inner witch that I've always looked for in life. He's my strength...he's me...

My story is not very exciting. I used to belong to two different sites that gave me Indigo and Angel as pass words for acessing the sites. In order to maintain anonminity I combined the two words for an email address an added my birth year - ie indigoangel63. I have since shortened my name here to Indigo - the angel part is not so much me any more. So indigo will do untill a more suitable one comes along.
A bit off topic but.....Kridina mentioned doing a search on her/his name. I had a dream awhile ago and I was spelling out my surname to some one (its an unusual one and I generally have to spell it any way) In the dream they wrote it down changing one letter. I have googled the word from the dream and it comes up in German (my surname is originally from Germany). It seems to be a slang word cos I cant work out what it would translate to in English......knowing my luck its probably a swear word. So if anyone out there speaks fluent German....

ivory comes from my love of elephants, simple as that
i have since registering here found my magickal name which is
Ivory RavenMoon
Raven ~ I began to sense and see Raven's everywhere I went after researching about people's magickal names. . . after three weeks of seeing them i was like Duhhh it's trying to tell you something so I took it as my name, i still see them but not as often as I did during those three weeks. If im deciding about something or thinking while im walking I'll usually here one call out and look up to see it staring at me as if to say, you know what to do!!! it did creep me out at first but its kinda comforting now.
Moon ~ A bit like Ivory (white) and Raven (black) being opposites it also reminded me of the bright moon in a dark night sky, I also love watching the moon so thats why I chose moon as well.
Not very interesting but there you go lol

Mine's really silly. I used to play Dark Age of Camelot (MMORPG) and Prea was the randomly generated name of the toon I played for 4 years in that game. It's just stuck with me since then, lol.
Yes, I'm a geek

Mine just came from my affinity for nature and fervent division from organized religion. When I chose the name, "pagan" and "heathen" were mostly synonymous in my mind. I've come to recognize since that Heathen actually encompasses a philosophical set which isn't especially applicable to me. Nevertheless, I use the term "heathen" in the dictionary sense, which is to say (more-or-less) non-christian. Plus, it has a little overtone of mischief and rebellion, which I like.

Mine came while researching Aradia. As I was writing her name down I ended up writing Adarian down instead. I loved it and I have stayed with it. A little weird I know; honestly I do know how to spell .
I feel that with me looking up Aradia and coming up wit a whole name for me was what was meant to be. I still feel that this is not the whole of my name. I know the rest will come.
Brightest Blessings!

The name 'Hogboon' comes from Orkney, from the Old Norse 'haug-bui', which translates as 'mound-dweller'.
When the founder of a Viking estate died, he would be buried in a ceremonial mound on the estate. His spirit was then believed to carry on living on the estate, generally looking after it.
Everything would be fine as long as his spirit was treated with respect, for example some food and wine placed on his mound from time to time. However, if he felt neglected then misfortune would befall the estate.
