dear wiccans , i have a problem with choosing my wicca tradition !!!! At first i wanted Gardnerian Wicca , but they do not aloud self initiation. And in my country there is no covens , so what wicca tradition do u suggest me to take??? Regards and Blessings !!!!!!!!  _________________ Love and Magic

There is really no one that can tell you what path to take. The tradition you choose is your own. Might I suggest exploring different traditions for now and be eclectic to find the one that truely fits your needs? Ask yourself what are you looking for? What spells, herbs or candles do you use? Do you like candle magick, rituals and what-not? What God/ess do you like or feel connected to?
These are just a few questions you can ask yourself. You should also check out different books.

You should also check out different books. well i did not try any spells jet...so do not know what do i want??? dont know if i am crazy about candle magic but..i do like chanting and i want to follow goddess and horned god!!!as all wicans!!! so can someone suggest me names of couple religions so i can study them closer!!!!! _________________ Love and Magic

Some people don't even follow a specific tradition. I consider myself a Hedge Witch with heavy Wiccan influence, but I make my own spells, rituals, and rules and what I call myself is subject to change since I'm still learning so much. I do not lump myself with a tradition written by a coven or anything of the sort. Rather, I draw from the experiences of others and the teachings of many in order to build a tradition of my own that I might pass on later.
So relax. Just go with the flow, read up, and decide what you want to do when you're fully comfortable with giving yourself that label.

I started with a Scott Cunningham book. He wrote based on experience and research from a lot of different traditions, so any of his books are a less biased place to start, if you're looking for books.

read anything you can get your hands on. Wicca in itself is a religion, there are many different paths in this... You can also look at the different kinds of Witches, not all necassarily Wiccan (I'm not) - You have so much to choose from! I did my research project on Gardnerian Wicca, just because it was most widely avaliable.. However, if you are looking for your path, then don't choose yet  Don' tie yourself down to anything - research, practice - do everything you can, and then choose. I knew I wasn't Wiccan after about 6 months of studying, but it took me nearly 4 years of being a practising Witch to find a specific path... Don't rush, take your time As has been said, read EVERYTHING that is avaliable to you This is a life- long journey, and the one thing about life is that things are always changing...what feels right to you now might not eel right in the years to come...
