Just wondering what if you have one.....is your opinion of the Goddess Kali. To some it would seem strange, but as of late I feel that she is calling to me more and more. I know that I am new and still learning and finding my way but i feel like I have known this way forever and just had my spirituality repressed by controlliny in-laws, so maybe I am right and it is possible for Kali to call to me. What are your thoughts on this remember im new so no bashing please!

I find it interesting how our gods can call to us. I have had the feeling many times and I have felt when they have left. I say go for it and explore Kali.

Her origin: India
Her stereotype depicts her as scary, bloodthirsty, and an out of control demon. But she is very good to her devotees, blessing them with good health, she protects the helpless, particularly women and children. Try a google search ~ their is so much about her you will want to know.
Your Deity will choose you, keep watching for signs.

Indian deities can be so complex because of the complex religion and nation they originate from, but like Elia a Protector goddess is definitely how I view her in the most direct way. The necklace of skulls/heads she adorns are not scary to me but instead give the only warning those who mean harm to her devotees ( "Don't mess with me!"). I also definitely agree to research, research, research. Hindu gods and goddesses are so colorful and a fascinating and inspirational spiritual study.

I have been doing research on Kali. She in fact doesn't frighten me at all. In my opinion she is a protector of her devoted ones. She is said to represent death but it is more of a death of the Ego rather than physical death. Her necklace of skulls and skirt of dismembered arms represent the freeing of her children from the attachment of the limited body. She is the Goddess of enlightenment and liberation. One of the few Goddesses that is celibate.
I am continuing to read more on her and research her. I have recently discovered a book about her written by Elizabeth Harding entitled Kali: The Black Goddess of Dakshineswar which I am hoping to locate and purchase.
I heard the name only once and it has called out to me ever since even before I started researching her. Personally I see her as a Mother figure, a protector of her devotees, full of love and affection and I call on her quite frequently for protection throughout my day as I feel like if anyone knew the story behind my life they would understand why I feel the need for protection and why she calls to me so boldly!

I like her. If she is calling to you, don't fight her, it seems she will be very good to you if you love her. Go for her!

You probably already did this, but there's some good used copies over on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... ition=used You can also look on Barnes and Noble.com and perhaps on Ebay. There's also a 40 some-odd page preview on Google to read while you're looking. http://books.google.com/books?id=4woiJb ... &q&f=false

There's a book by Durdin-Robertson by the name of "Goddesses of India" which include some of her rituals (many of them are orgiastic). She was apparantly a war goddess who was absorbed into the Hindu pantheon as the creator or mother of Shiva but later married him so I doubt that she is celibate. Briganta

It's strange how this is happening to me too. I was looking for an answer of the thousands questions I have in my mind. I think she is calling me to. I described my experience in two posts in my Book of Mirror but I will copy it here: 1st: "........Lots of things happened. One day I saw a shadow of someone in the wall, having on the head the half moon. I didn't know what this could mean. Then, I've read that today was going to be on of the rarest positions of the moon making a half moon horizontally. I've been dreaming of this kind of position, to finally see it, since I was a kid. And another "strange" thing. I ordered my wand and there was so strange issues with delivering that I received it today and my candles too. I went to observe Her and I am sure that she was there for me. In the same way in these days I had two offers for a job. I declined one but that helped think about many things. And then the other offer I am working on. The fact is that I made a delay in payment medical assurance and here you can have real troubles in these cases and if there haven't happened that job offer, I wouldn't remind myself of that going into big troubles. She saved me somehow. Then, this evening I was in bathroom, just thinking my stuff and for a second I saw a woman looking at me on the wall and little babies around, like angles. Then I tried to see this again but were disappear. What do you think? It's so nice to feel protected. " 2nd: "Actually I was just looking in front of me to the wall that has some patterns and in a second that I just left my mind without control, I saw what i described to you. I firstly thought she was Brigit but then I made a research on "Goddesses appearing with angels" and came out the Goddess of Anglels, Shakti (read here: http://kimbasangels.com/shekhina.html/url ). After I wrote this post at the end (as you can read on) I wished to hear that Angel again and I heard (everything before reading that site): "You have to let me help you but you only need to want to. Do you remember which is the last time you felt the pour love? (in that moment I had an immagine of that moment) Yes, that's it. Now hold on, feel that love and let it to expand all your body and outside your body. Share it with all of you around" Again I started to feel great inside. Then I found that site and I read it and I was shocked!! Everything is indicating me!! And the story of pure - love she repeated the same words to me!!! It's such a long time I have her on my side and I even didn't know it!! Do you know something more about her?" P.s For about Angels, two years ago I had an experience that is more than awesome. I was in a moment of great suffering, I was thinking that I would hardly survive, I begged in my mind for someone to help me and in that moment, I don't know who (I think it was an angel and my granny) but I heard a voice saying: "I will help you, I am at your side. Give me your hand." I just extended my hand and I felt an energy, something sucking away all the pain. I felt that energy grabbing inside me and put it all away. Well, after that, I cannot say I was happy but the horrible pain that was going to put me into suicide, was gone. In that period I just thought that the pain was so hard to stand that I became crazy. Now, looking back, I think it was a miracle. Just makes cry remembering that. I wish I could felt these Angles again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I found her in another way but seems I got her message and after a research she was there waiting for me to understand. Now I need to know more about her. What do you think and suggest?

After I posted about her, telling what happened, outside started blowing a strong wind and a perfectly closed window just opened alone making me freezing. What does it mean? What shall I do?
