I didn't know there was a food grade hydrogine proxide, but I use the stuff you get at the drug store for everything. I use it for mouthwash, to clean cuts out, insect bites and stings, I substitute it for bleach in my whites and I occasionally dip our toothbrushes in it to kill the germs. I also have really sensitive ears so whenever I wear earings I dip my ear lobes in peroxide when I take the earings out to keep them from crusting up.

I've always used the regular stuff too, but I'm interested to see the food grade stuff too after reading that report that I posted the link to. The only drawback to the foodgrade stuff is that it's expensive, dangerously concentrated and must be diluted alot.
Everyone seems to agree about these general uses for it and as a bonus, the regular hydrogen peroxide is CHEAP! I most recently bought a couple bottles for 50 cents each.
1. Stain Remover/Bleach Alternative Hydrogen Peroxide will take blood stains out of any light colored fabric except silk & satin. A bleach alternative, hydrogen peroxide is great for brightening laundry. Add 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide with the detergent (not bleach) let it sit for 30 minutes then finish the cycle. I have not tried this with colors, but supposedly if you let the water fill up first and the peroxide is not poured directly onto any colored clothes, it won't harm the colors...but I haven't risked it.
2. Disinfectant/First Aid Hydrogen peroxide is a great disinfectant. You can uses it to wipe down door knobs, light switches, bathrooms, counters, kids' toys, etc... When I get a cut, scrape or any kind of owie, I pour some hydrogen peroxide over the whole area. I also use it if I did 'bathroom surgery' on a blemish.
3. Hair Lightener I like to mix it with lemon juice in a spray bottle and apply it to my hair when I go out in the sun.
4. Ear Sanitizer If I feel like I'm getting an earache, I will pour a mixture of rubbing alcohol and peroxide into my ears. It works for me. I like Lindsays idea of using it to uncrust her piercings.
5. Toothbrush Sterilizer/Tooth whitener I like to soak my toothbrush in it every so often, especially after I've been sick. I also at night will brush my teeth, floss, rinse with a swig of hydrogen peroxide (being very careful not to swallow and holding it in my mouth for as long as I can) and then brushing again. I can't really stand going to bed with the taste of it, that's why I brush again!

This is my two cents:
I wouldn't try ingesting it, no matter what that study says.Stomach contains HCl the reaction for both substances in 10% vol (which is not the case in the stomach) would be: 2 HCl + H2O2 --> Cl2 + 2 H2O, obviously liberating Cl, not O2... Now i'm not a chemstry ace, but that article doesn't seem right. Not to talk about Intravenous injections, that was used to kill people in the nazi concentration camps (along with phenol and other substances)..
I also don't use it on small wounds or skin. It creates capilar embolism (whitening the skin) and usually a wound disinfected with that will leave scars due to the fact that it destroys new formed cells.
I don't even use it for household, not to mention for hair or mouth.. As far as I know, it has no stronger disinfectant effect than toothpaste, and it "burns" the hair.

Yeah the food grade stuff is dangerously concentrated and the report recommends only a few drops per eight ounces of water or juice. The regular cheap stuff is 3% and I've never seen any stronger. But the more I read about it makes me think that the pharmeceutical companies for sure don't want something unpatenable and cheap being used.
I've used it for years on my skin for injuries and I have no scars from it, in fact, I think that somehow that the peroxide seems to prevent scarring. I'm going to keep looking into it and will let you guys know when I get the food grade shipment.
