I'm just wondering what other people have found to be their favorite herbal remedy. My favorite thing that really works for me is raspberry leaf tea. I drink a cup a day. I discovered it during pregnancy having read that it tones the uterus. The best thing that I discovered is that it has eliminated menstral cramps for me.

I've only discovered this recently but I was recommended an ayurvedic herb called andrographis. It is sort of new to the western market (well it is certainly new in the U.K) and it is for colds and flu. It is rather bitter but whenever the cold syptoms start to get a bit too heavy I take the andrographis and it really works brilliantly. It takes away the coughing and the sneezing and the runny nose; it also helps with the blockage symptoms of a cold.

Also although it is an essential oil I always use tea tree oil for cuts and bruises. I've found it brilliant for thrush symptoms.

It's super hard for me to choose a favorite in this area, too.

I always have a bottle of Tea Tree Oil in the house but use it sparingly as it can dry and irritate when used neat. It works wonders for fire ant stings for my daughter and so many other things.

I also try to keep Chamomile, Lemon Balm, Skullcap and Peppermint in the house almost constantly for their various nervine effects. lol Chamomile is also a gentle diuretic so I have a few cups when I think/feel that a diuretic might be in order.

I've read some really great things about andrographis. It sounds wonderful, but for those of us with autoimmune dysfunctions like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, etc. the use of this herb could increase/worsen the symptoms as it is thought to increase the activity of the immune system.
