I'm not. I really believe that animals will talk to us if we can tune in. I'm wondering if you have any idea what Beauty is thinking?

I haven't actually tried to speak with an animal from that distance. I can do it with my own familiars, but I've only tried talking with animals that I am right next to. I used it a lot when I worked at the vet clinic.
I'll give it a try here tonight and see what I can come up with. Do you have a specific question?

If you look on the previous page in this thread, about the 5th post, I tell that I want to ask Beauty if she wants to move with us or stay in this neighborhood.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Bastette. I don't think you're weird at all
Just a thought - if you have difficulty connecting with Beauty for Katherined, perhaps Katherined could post a picture if she has one. I found working with a photograph of the animal worked quite well.

Beauty is most likely hunting right now. I was out with the doggies a few minutes ago and there was no sign of her! But I will take a picture of her and a few other things...Tomorrow I'll set up a photo bucket account and go crazy showing the forum all the things I've wanted to for some time!

I don't think this is weird at all. I've always been drawn to animals, dogs and cats especially, and I always wanted a pet really badly. I know almost every dog in the neighborhood and in the spring to fall I love just roaming the neighborhood to see which ones I bump into. My friends noticed I could accuratly guess an animals gender, age, breed, and personality within a minute or two's interaction.
Anyway, A few decembers ago, my family FINALLY got a pet. Her name is Saphira and she is a short hair calico. Sometime in January when she was still a kitten I was reading a book when I heard a very distinct MEOW.
I asked my sister who was in the same room if she'd heard it but she just shook her head. A bit confused, I went back to reading. I heard the mew again accompanied with a feeling of lonelyness. This time I decided to investigate. On a whim I ended up infront of my parents bedroom door. After a moment, I heard scratching so I opened it and out raced Saphira. Turns out my brother was playing with her in there and had accidently closed the door before she left.
Me and Saphira's bond has gotten a lot stronger since then. Often when she wants to play, she'll jump behind a certain box in the living room which she uses for ambush. Now, when anyone else trys to play with her, she wil play but it seems kind of half hearted sometimes. But when I come up, she'll immediatly crouch down, and look at me very expectantly. When we play, she goes nuts!
geez this is turning into a long post. Anyway, the neighbors next door owned two cats Leroy and JD. I sometimes babsitted for them and would pet Leroy when I saw him outside. I've suspected for a while the two of them wern't very well taken care of. I had especially bonded with JD. He was the indoor cat and was the one that hid from his busy human family with the loud toddlers and the neighbors said he would occasionally scratch.
When I went to take care of them for the first time whenthe family was away, Leroy semed to get the message I cared. He came right up and purred. JD needed some convincing, he wouldn't hide, but he would just hang around, a bit out of reach. Eventually, I was able to pet him, even pick him up. And I was the only one who could make him purr.
JD died last month. I was really sad and worried about Leroy too. So after I went to bed, I felt a cat jump up next to me. I was surprised because Saphira doesn't tend to come sleep with me in the night, she prefers my brothers bed which is bigger. Anyway, I reached out to pet her and felt nothing. But I distinctly felt an animal pressed up against me. After a few minutes, I understood it was JD. Maybe it was his goodbye, maybe he needed help passing on.
those are my animal experiences. I am a complete believer!

I have had a hound dog for about 12 years now. He came to me a a runaway puppy about 7 months old. He had been abused, beat, starved and shot with a shotgun. I adopted him and nursed him back to health. He is always with me and has been for less than 2 weeks apart in 12 years. I can tell what he wants, petting, go for a ride, drink, fed etc. He will stand and look at me and its easy to tell what he wants. He is the best thing that ever happened and we understand each other real easy.

I have a very strong connection with animals but I never thought of it as being "mystical". I am just able to relate to animals very well. I can pick up their emotions very strongly as well as convey mine. As I write this, I've got a dog sitting by my feet, and a rabbit on my lap!!
Practically, it allows me to have amazing relationships with animals- frightened animals seem to trust me, which has allowed me to rescue a lot of them, and has made for some really great pets. In the outdoors, I can often call wild animals too me- I've even pet some. It also allows me to completely tame a bird like a budgie in under an hour.
Again, I don't think of this as a spooky thing, but just being patient and very observant. I think animals and people are very good at passing emotional "images" to each other and animals know who they can trust. I have never tried to take this any farther than sharing emotions. However, one thing I can say is that having tamed "stupid" farm animals, I know that animals are far smarter than people give them credit for and they really do have real emotions.

Oh yes they have emotions. I could go on and on and get tears in my eyes talking about a dog's love!!! You know I was just talking with a guy who told me all about a rat that wanted to always sit on his shoulder while he was on the computer and how he cried when that rat died. Then there are cats, rabbits, horses, donkeys---I have a neighbor with a zebra. What a nice zebra!!!

I once brought home a duckling- she followed me around like puppy. I trained the dog so that she would leave the duck alone and as the duck grew older, the duck learned that she should get away with everything. She would sneak up behind the dog and grab her tail. The duck would also steal the dog's food and the dog would look and cry. I didn't think that was so healthy for the duck so we had to feed the dog when the duck wasn't around! I could even take the duck for a walk and the dog would patrol around the duck to make sure the cats or other dogs wouldn't attack......The duck was also a better guard dog than the dog. She would alarm Quack when people were still fair distance away and unfortunately attempt to bite anyone besides us.....

I once rescued two lambs. They developed Orf, a viral infection around the mouth and it was too painful for them to nurse or eat. So, I hand fed them. These really were like dogs. We would chase each other around the yard. The male, socks love popcorn (so do i). He would literally paw at my leg begging for me to share. They were really smart to- They could escape from anything. If they decided they weren't getting enough attention, they would break out of their pen, and then paw at the door. Once they actually broke through the screen and I found them in my kitchen pawing at the fridge. To link this back to the psychic thing, they escaped a few times and I was always able to sense it and know where they went....
