I was just wondering if anyone else can talk to spirits and how they feel about it.And if you can talk to a spirirt is it through meditation or trance,or is it alll the time? I can talk to them all the time depending on what my guide thinks im ready for but she is also my guardian.And we talk all the time it is constant for me and i feel blessed to be able to communicate with her and other beings i have talked to.Just wish i could see them.

MM Maliki,
It sounds like you have quite a talent. I know there are a few people here at Magicka who are able to talk with spirits.
I can see spirits and can receive messages from them and don't necessarily have to be meditating or in a trance state. This isn't a constant thing with me but it happens from time to time. I don't mind when it happens and I always try to help if need be. My daughter can speak to spirits, too, and is actually much better at it than I am.
Do protect yourself and shield yourself when working with spirits.

I do make sure im sheilded thank you .I wish i could seem them though that would be even better,the only time i see any form of spirit is in my dreams.

OOOOO I love talking to spirits, great question Maliki!!
I have been able to communicate with spirits for most of my life, mainly my childhood, as I found that when I had kids I was so devoted to them that I blocked everything else out, only recently have I been able to talk to them again mentally, but I have always been able to sense them around. In fact the other week I had a spirit in my lounge room that was vibing out negativity, so much so that I felt fear, so I just said, out loud and in my mind, that it was not welcome with it being so negative, it was to leave and not return while negative and angry. The spirit did in fact leave and I have not seen hide nor hair of it since. I normally connect mentally with them as this is easier for them to communicate, but I have been known to have conversations with an entity only to be caught 'talking to myself'. I do believe that my 5 yr old has the same gift as there was a little girl that she used to play with in the hallway, but I think I disturbed them to many times and the little girl has gone into hiding. It wasn't intentional, just doing the daily things, packing away washing and the like. I got the feeling that she didn't like grown ups to much, so I tried to stay away when I sensed her, but alas she was such a small spirit that I couldn't always pick her up while I was focused on other things so would walk right through her! Needless to say my 5 yr old was not impressed with me!!
Anyway, I seemed to have darted off track, talking to spirits has come naturally to me, as a child I was always having visitors in my bedroom and I was always chatting away, in fact I have been having visitors since I was a baby, one night I was crying in my cot in my room, my nan was staying for a while to help mum out and nan heard me cry so she came down the stairs to my room and saw a lady by the cot tucking me in and caring for me, so she went to bed, in the morning nan asked mum if it took her long to settle me, mum had no idea what she was talking about! It was a full figured woman in a long nightgown stroking my head and tucking me in. Maybe I was born to talk to spirits  .
Again, babbling, sorry, I have found that I can talk to them without needing to meditate or go into a trance or something similar, I would/can sense them and be able to tell how they are/were feeling, so to speak, and then go from there. In 99% of the time the lights flickered and I broke out into a cold sweat feeling tacky and my heart would feel like it was going to jump out of my chest, then when the spirit actually was in the same room as I things would settle down and I could then take the course of action needed.
Well I think I have rambled on enough, I do hope in all this rambling that I have answered your questions  ?

mm,
I can talk to spirits and have ever since I was a child though unlike the other people who have posted I don't really like it  The sprits that come to me are the ones who were murdered and thats no fun. I have to be very wary when I medaitate because of it too as if I don't do a specific mediation they take over and I wind up 'watching' their murders.  I wish I could speak to normal spirits and not have to deal with the murder part.

Thank you everyone for replying.I know im not alone now  Sorry Herbalteas that you have to deal with that.I never had that problem,than again my guide/guardian is always around and she has been a big help with this.maybe that is something you can try is talking to a guide or guardian,I know mine is very protective of me.I guess im more like Witchcraft and wizadry,I can sense them to and here them all the time,my friends catch me talking to my self and just dont understand,I try and explain and they think im nuts.but i still love the fact i can talk to them.

mm,
I have a gaudian and she is very nice. After every bad bout I have or even a really bad day when I go to sleep and shut my eyes I 'see' her just sitting there stroking my hair while my head is on her lap I don't know why but its happened everytime since I was a child and only till I started to learn about Wicca did I realise who the old lady who sat across from her was when I had extreme bouts and extremely bad days. She appeared since I was a child too. She is my Goddess Hecate. Though I've learnt throughout the yrs not to close my eyes for longer then a min unless I really have to or else they come.

Hiya,
Herbalteas (yum by the way, I love herbal teas ), do you ask for protection before you meditate or meditate in a protection bubble??
I ask as it is recommended that you do some sort of protection and/or cleansing before meditating. This should help with your unwanted spiritual flashes. I understand how disturbing they can be,many a time I saw a bloody apparition standing before me, scary and kinds cool at the same time. SAY WHAT?? I hear you say, yeah kinds cool as in there are some spirits who just want to communicate and s try to latch onto the first 'psychic' they can locate.Most of the time it is communication that they want and I have found that once I communicated with them they left me alone. Maybe next time you see the scene speak to the entity, even while the scene is played out, they may not realise that you actually don't like seeing that and back off. Ask them why they are contacting you? Like is said, they may just want to chat.
Ok off topic yet again! Cleansing and Protecting can safe guard you against those negative unwanted energies. Just say out loud what the cleansing and protection is for and you should be right. I always physically clean the space first, last thing I need is something uncomfy annoying me while i'm meditating, then I clean the space of all negativity, usually with a cleansing incense as well as a verbally speaking my intentions, I also ask for the lords and ladies to help cleanse and protect the area. Something like "I cleanse this space and all who are in of all negativity, I ask that the lords and ladies fill this space and all who are in it with positive, healing energies" I repeat that until I feel the room is cleansed. I then raise a positive energy bubble around me using mother earth's energy. Then I speak to the universe and all that are in it "I ask that while I meditate, I may see what is there for me to see, I ask for protection of all negative energies and I ask the lords and ladies to help guide, nurture and help me in understanding those messages that I may receive. Please protect me in this sacred space while I meditate."
The when I have finished I say thanks for the help, guidance and protection as well as thanks for any vision I may have received. I return the energy back to mother earth and thank all in attendance.
Please note that when i said negative energies, I mean negative energies and not a negative or bad vision. Some ghosties are very positive but they just have a negative vision or are just delivering a negative message. Please keep that in mind if ever you do get a bad vision, it may not necessarily mean that the one showing you is bad, just the vision.
I hope that you can work through this barrier and be able to close your eyes with peace and not fear of what you see.

I agree with Witchcraftandwizadry I would try and talk to them and find out what they want and definately set up some protection barriers.who knows they may just be looking for help,or just communication.I have noticed some spirits just love to communicate with us.Good luck Herbalteas and let us know how things go

I can communicate with spirits, but not always. I can feel their presence when I'm about to make major desicions, and I can feel them guiding me towards what is the right path.
But mostly they communicate with me when it comes to helping others. If someone ask me for advice I can hear voices from somewhere inside the air whispering the right words to say, if I am about to give bad advice.
This is always very helpfull when I'm working with tarot or trying to find the meaning of a dream. Sometimes I just get a very clear intuition and an understanding that I can't explain, but there are times when I can hear the whispers of something that I cannot see.

yep,me too!!! i love them popping in (as long as they are nice,which is a requirement for spirits to enter my home~they can mean no harm to anyone or thing here).
i wasnt always happy when i was younger,but have grown to love my "gift" and the spirits that enter my life. the past couple of years i seem to have alot of child ghosts. but i think that is due to me having 3 lil boys. ive even seen them running after my kids,just like they were playing along....and a bit ago i had a shy asian boy (maybe 4yrs) pop in for a few nights,he was sooo cute but i dont know if he understood me really.... i think he was just looking for some "family time".
i can talk to them whenever i want to,they listen most of the time and i do have some regulars (like my baby cousin Sarah,who oddly enough appears to me like she is around 18 years old instead of 5 months or so).
Ive also learned to throw up a circle without speaking aloud (i have a specific chant i use) i can do it pretty quick and use it often. it helps if im fealing bombarded or sketchy about someone/thing. i even use it for non ghostly things.....
some days i see several some days one or none....
times of the year,like Halloween always make them pop in alot more!!!! and full moons help too i think.
anywho..... enough rambling 
if anyone ever has ghost/spirit Q's im always here to help,as much as i can anways

Thanks Ruby thats great.I dont ever get to see them but i hear them all the time.It is a blessing I have talked to friends that have died.And especially my ex who died a few months ago,That was hard but i feel alot better since we have talked.
