Hello
For November, as it is near to Samhain and Beltaine (depending on which hemisphere you are in), we would like you to give a description of the way you celebrated these special holidays. If you are not Wiccan feel free to describe an upcoming or past celebration that you have had. If you are not planning anything you may also describe what a perfect celebration would involve for you and your path.
The winner will win a Magicka School Mug, Key Ring and both of our current badge designs. This competition will end November 30th at Midnight GMT.

I am not Wiccan but am interested in the Wiccan ways. I am continuously learning about it all as I have only been aware of Paganism in general for about a year and a half.
My celebration right now would be to invite faeries to be among me and my family. I want to teach my family, those who are willing to learn, what I have learned. I want to honor The God and Goddess by teaching others at this time of the new year (Samhain.)
I cannot think of anything better to do than to teach new things to start a new year.
Blessed Be

I've been sick for the past week and a half so had to curtail our celebration. I am brand new to wicca, but it is the first time I've ever felt "at home".
I did a private meditation for about 20 minutes just feeling the power of the Goddess and giving thanks for this special new gift. Then I walked around our house and yard in the moonlight (though it was not that bright) and felt at peace with all of nature, and that special connection I've always had since I was very young to the moon.
Then I came inside and played a triple goddess chant I have on my computer and sang and danced along with it.
Probably not so exciting for most folks, but it was very special to me.
Brightest blessings,
LadyLucinda

I am a member of a group of solitary practitioners. We take turns hosting our rituals. This year, as I love Samhain, I volunteered to host.
We started with a meditation, then had a calling for the ones that have pasted and visited about them.
We then made God's Eyes. For this we wrote a wish/dream/hope for the next year on each arm then wound the yarn. I am starting a new tradition (for me). Next year I will burn the old God's Eye and make a new one.
We then had cake and grape juice (since there are some under 21 present!)
And finished with tarot readings.
We all felt refreshed and ready for a New Year!
Blessings to All

On Samhain Eve we usually let the little ones invite their friends round for a Hallowe'en / Samhain (depending on what the respective parents believe!) kiddies party.
After that, mum annd dad have a well earned rest with some homemade Incense, something to eat and a few candles around the place.
Next morning, my wife and son were at a workshop to make a shamanic frame drum while I....completed my last Wicca Revealed exam and passed! Yippee!
So, all in all an action packed Samhain to remember this year.

I had a great home Beltane night, just me and hubby. first time that the other half has been a par of celebrations. while I didn't have a ritual it was very personal for me as it was the first Beltane I have celebrated. first time through the wheel of the year, for me.
Mentally i reviewed my progress with my Yule wish, and reinforced to myself just how far I have come in fulfilling it, and that i would endeavour to continue working towards my goal. Being a summer/fire festival i had a wonderful bbq for dinner, lol summer in australia is allllll about the bbq! with spicy marinated meat and fresh garden salad. (spice again for fire, and fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden for the bounty of the earth) i decorated the house with twined honeysuckle and jacaranda and hyacinth flowers, all the scents and flowers remind me so much of the first heat of summer when they come out, and i planted new seed for vegetables and flowers in the garden, making the pledge to tend them and my inner self. and last thing before bed i lit a white candle and a green candle, for Lord and Lady and meditated between them visualising the stale remnants of winter being flushed by the energies out of me, and out of the open windows of the house, letting in the vibrant new energies of the season.

Usually we go trick or treating as a family with everyone dressed up in costumes. When we get home we put the kiddies to bed and then my husband and I set up the altar and have a ceramony to which we say what ever comes to mind about samhain with the ending of the year and the beginning of the new. I am teaching my husband the ways so a lot of the celebration is explaining what each thing represents and let him participate in the ceremony as a joint partner. Are ceramonies are very light hearted and serious when need be.

I took a walk out in nature on Halloween day and took in the changing colours of the leaves on the trees and noticed how beautiful it all was. During the evening I did a silent ritual at my altar connecting me with the goddess and god and I also remembered my ancestors too. I gave thanks for the beauty in this time of year and sent healing to those who needed it.
Blessings

This year I had a busy Samhain.
I held a ritual in our local woods with a few friends, we walked to our favourite spot that is a small grove of trees and we carried out our ritual early in the morning. We took cake and home made elderberry wine to share. During the ritual we each spoke about what Samhain meant to us and how we felt.
I also sat for a while with photographs of my father who passed a few years ago, I lit a candle for him and also set a pint of his favourite ale on the side.
During the evening we had a party, with traditional games, food and drink.

What a lovely idea
I haven't performed a full ritual since Beltaine but that was a particularly special one for me, My fiancé, an atheist, asked if he could take part too, as he understood the nature of the holiday and wanted to share it with me. Although nervous I was delighted to have him join in! To help both of us I actually scripted most of the ritual so he would know what to expect.
In preparation we went to a diy store and bought a packet of sweetpea seeds, they were to be planted as part of the ritual.
I cast the circle while my fiancé waited on a cushion then I joined him. Together we raised energy by singing a chant, each taking different melodies so we created harmony while my fiancé drummed softly on a bodhran. We got quicker and louder until we reached a peak and then channelled the energy together into the seeds. Each seed we held and wished for something; something for our selves, something for each other, something for our families, something for our friends and something for the world. The seeds were then planted in a prepared terracotta pot with a bamboo tripod pushed into the earth in order to support the climbing flowers as they grew.
Once all the seeds were planted and all the wishes made, we tied ribbons to the tripod and wound them around and around like a Maypole in miniature. Then began the rite of cakes and wine.. or in our case shortbread and strawberries. We also performed the symbolic great rite with athame and chalice, it was a solemn and joyful moment as we looked into each other's eyes and said "As the athame is to the male, so the chalice is to the female" I spoke of how the union was a sacred act and was happy to see my fiancé smile with understanding.
We shared the shortbread and strawberries, feeding each other and talking happily, our feast made, we closed the circle and made love in the glow of the candles.
It was a perfect Beltaine

Samhain is special for my family and it's easier to be openly pagan. We do a traditional collecting of leaves and make winter scene pictures to hang up, and save some for writing our wishes on, to then throw into the fire we have burning in our big cauldron. We of course bob for apples and turn our winnings into toffee apples. We do most of our celebrating outdoors in the garden and the local wood. It's a magical time thats held dearly to my children who are happy to tell friends that they really are witches!!! xx
