Hmm the competitions that would be my suggestions ....

1. To write a description as if you were to teach someone whom knows nothing of the crafts, to learn how to use a diviniation tool such as the pendulum or tarot. But this is to be done in ones own words not from a text book.

2. To write an essay as to why you have chosen magick as a path in your life, how it may of helped you and what it makes you feel.

3. A description of a favourite witch or wizard from history either fact or fiction. Why you admire them and what is it that they did where are they from etc.

I could come up with heaps more. I have 4 kids- making things up like this is natural. lol

1. Creative Sabbat Craft Idea
2. Basic, easy to follow ritual for a Sabbat (either solitary or coven)
3. Innovative way of bringing Wiccan/Witchcraft into your everyday life.

Suggestions for competitions:

1) Let people upload their artwork, photographs, paintings, drawings anything which is visually inviting and their own work.

2) To write a short, positive, creative poem! about happy things in their life or about the things that make them happy after all positivity is a great thing to spread about!

3) To write down any kind of true paranormal experience they have encountered.

Also, with these competitions i think it would be fair if we let members of the forum vote on the best one's. Then collect the votes and with each competition the one with the most votes wins.

First, hi to all ^^, now, my ideas:

1. To let the most creative members share what they've come up while learning. For example to share their own rituals, spells, meditations, etc. The winner should be the one who's able to explain how they discovered their "creation", how it's done and so and so(my english is really bad, so sorry if i cant express myself properly.)
2. Ok, my second idea is ..well, to tell more about their magic work. what was the first thing they did, the last one and the one they'll never forget. It should be , of course, explained as an essay, so it would be easy to see the growth of the people, their improvement through the time. Additional info could be added, for ex. for how long they've being practising, how did they start, etc.
3. Third and last, A favorite movie. Why movie, you'll ask. Because usually people have bad opinion about us, witches are always the bad heroes in stories. This could be also seen in movies, though that sometimes people are trying to show another point of view too. So, no matter what the movie was about, if magic was represented as good or bad thing, it still made you learn something. what was it? What lesson did you gain, do you think the characters' reaction in the movie was right or wrong about the magic, why will you always remember that movie?

Ok, as i said i dont know a lot of words in english so i cant say everything i want to but i think you've got the idea, and that you could later improve them. So, that was it from me ^^

1.....the trees and thier magical use...and history in the craft

2......fairies,gnomes,sylphs,,ect and all of thier differences..places they live,,thier attractions and dislikes...

3...a short essy on your favorite mythical creature....why its you favorite, and it history, and connection to the craft if any.

Magicka is about serving and catering to the members, so finding things that you all enjoy writing about helps a great deal as then your interests can be seen

I agree with you that this thread will generate a lot of ideas, it has very much so far.

A good competition could be finding a name for your new camper van

1. Write a short essay defining the term "Witch" and what it means to you.

2. Write a spell and give a short synopsis of how it may have worked

3. write a discription of the First Book you ever read That began your path into Wicca

1 - I would say an artistic competition - "draw your lord and lady/God and goddess etc" express how they appear to you, display your love and connection with them in your life.


2 - Write about the very first spell you ever cast - and what happened?



3 - Design your own tarot card competition; use your influences with Wicca to make it individual and you.

I read this and Had a ton of ideas. For me the problem is a competition or competitions that cater to everyone and are diverse and not just Wicca, Pagan or Christian.. so I tried to be nondenominational( i dunno if that is the right word to use LOL) about my ideas.
SO here we go:

Idea #1- Getting to know you-
Purpose- to help everyone new get to know everyone old or to help people get to know Magicka forum members better.

Type of competition- two part partner competition.

Summary- Members who participate are grouped into groups of two or more depending on how the admins want to run it.
Part #1 They are asked a series of 20 questions about themselves ......... and later after the second part is over they are asked the same questions about their partner(s). to win this part of the competition the partners who are closest to each others answers ( questions can be put on a point system) win. Think The Newlywed Game.
Part #2- for the artist in all of us... make a gift that reflects your partner and their likes and/or beliefs. the partners who make the best presents for each other( based on a rating scale done by your partner and a rating scale by the judges) wins this portions of the competition. This part can be a verbal poem or graphic drawing... must be able to put in our signatures if we wanted.

The best partnership based on the point system wins the whole shindig.

Idea #2

Chant/poem

Write a small affirmation in haiku poem form that you would say every morning ( or whenever) to uplift your spirit, get you motivated, change your mood, uplift your energy to get you moving, focus , or just to feel ready to start your day.. can be in poem or chant form.

the judges will choose the best one.

Idea #3-
since this forum is open to everyone I thought about a Philosopher's essay type competition.

Write an essay or short story on your core beliefs.. NOT religious beliefs the ones that led you towards your spiritual path. I can these can also be called your Values/morals. How did they lead you to your path? what about your beliefs do you think are unique to your identity? were your beliefs learned over time our were your raised with them?


I have more but I didn't want to write a book.

My ideas are...


1.) Have everyone either photoshop or draw the "Perfect" athame in their opinion


2.) Have everyone talk (via MSF Chatroom,MS PMing system,email,ect...) 2 fellow forum members and write a short,Breif summary(100-150 words or less) about the 2 people they befriended )and the one who learned the most wins)


3.)Have everyone write a essay comparing/contrasting the differences between practicing wicca alone and in a coven
