As there are different olis, how do you use them?
Here is my suggestions on what or how you can use them.
Aromatic Baths
Soak for 10 – 15 minutes. Do not use soap. The bath water must not be too hot, or the oil will evaporate before your body has time to absorb the oil. Use no more than 5 drops of one oil, or a combination of up to 9 drops. (you dont need to use a carrier oil for a bath)
Massage
The oil absorbs through the skin, when it is worked on that part of the body. A massage relaxes the whole body. (This you will need a carrier oil for)
Inhalant
The oils are absorbed through the airway, and helps respiratory problems Add eight drops into a bowl of warm water. Inhale through nose. Inhalation from a handkerchief may also be achieved.
Creams
Ideal for your own moisturisers and creams. Using a carrier lotion add 5 drops to 30ml of lotion. (You can buy unscented creams where you add your own oils to)
Footbaths
Add 6 drops to a bowl of warm water. Soak feet for 10 minutes. The feet absorb quickly and are good for conditions like colds.
Compresses
May be applied hot or cold. Mix 6 drops into a small bowl. Soak a piece of cloth, squeeze out and apply to areas needed.
I hope you find this useful

I also like to add my chosen mixture to a plain shower gel. Something with a neutral PH.
I find that baby washes work best because of the PH balance.
Adding them to the baby oil that I sometimes use straight after a shower is also lovely.
You don't need to use a carrier for either of these choices as the oil or shower gel acts as a carrier.

The method I use least is probably massage, simply because I have skin that sensitises easily and even for anti-allergenic oils like Lavender I can often get a skin rash (even if diluted, heh).
I use oils however in acupressure (on small, localised parts of the skin), and also very commonly in an oil burner.

I love to make my own bath bombs for some well deserved self-indulgence
I also make my own soaps using a plain vegetable glycerin soap base and my own candles from soywax.

Me too, Leccy - I have boxes of glycerin melt and pour soap base stored up for soapmaking
The possibilities are endless with adding oils to the base. That's by far my favorite usage of aromatherapy.

I like to put a few drops in the bath or add to Epsom salts to make scented bath salts too, which is a nice treat

I buy the little empty spray bottles (from Boots), and fill them half full with water and about ten or fifteen drops of oil - either a single one, or a blend of two or three. Give it a good shake and you can then spray it into the room (being careful what it reaches) or onto your skin (with all the usual safety warnings about allergies and photoreactive oils). I like to use them at bedtime or in the morning if I don't have time for a shower - can be very refreshing or relaxing depending which oils you use.

My brother and I burn candles a lot (that's a bit of an understatement. We have a regular house candle that we burn whenever anyone's in the house and awake) so I'm looking forward to making candles with essential oils in them for scent.
As has been mentioned before, I use them in the bath and in an oil diffuser with a carrier oil.
I also combine them with a carrier oil to annoint things like candles.
Finally, I'm also experimenting with making ointments.

What kind of oil would you use for a massage oil?
