Hi my name is Marisah. I am a witch still in progress. I have had some experience with spells but I know I still have a lot more to learn. That is why I joined Magicka School. I have only went through the first lesson and I need some assistance with a situation. I am a supevisor for a group home for disabled people. They live in a huge old home. There have been many reports of ghostly acitivity- sightings, windows opening on their own etc. Recently some trays of food were wailed accross the kitchen smashing into a cabinet. The residents witnessed this and was of course upset. So with the help of one of the staff I decided to try and rid the house of ghost. I went into meditation and encircled the home and myself in a protective light and pulled my energy. I had found a spell that consisted of placing sea salt in front of every window and door. Lighting a white candle in the room that felt most negative and burning a mixture of sage, cloves, thistle and garlic as I carried it to every room citing: "In the name of the eternal lady and the lord I bid thee part, I consecrate and clear this space, let nothing but joy linger here" - I went through every room and repeated. Now the house felt better to both of us, not as heavy etc. But as soon as I left a white misty apirition of a lady appeared to the staff and walked toward a window and disappeared and the within the hour the windows (that were locked) opened on there own. A black mist appeared and laughter was heard. So obviously I did not do my job well enough. Can someone help me with why this may not have worked? Could you give me some suggestion? Could it be because I did not use the full circle with the alter and offerings??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can not go to outside sources due to the type of home it is. Burning sage etc. will help rid a dwelling of negative energies but not necessarily ghosts/spirits/entities.

I don't believe you need a spell. Are you able to contact the ghost/spirit/entity and communicate with it/her/him to find out why they are staying around and then try to help them cross over. If not then, like Elia V suggested, it would be a good idea to call in a medium who is familiar with this kind of thing.
