It is commonly believed and accepted, even by many outside of the pagan community, that through practice, hardwork, and spiritual progression, an individual can grow more intune with their innate psychic nature. However, is it possible that there are certain periods in time and in our lives where our psychic abilities can spike and flourish with little or no stimulation by our conscious mind? With little or no practice? Are there certain times when the universe is properly positioned to stimulate the personal psychic evolution of an individual?
If so, what conditions do you believe ae neccessary for these events to occure? Is there a limit to the psychic gowth that can be attained? How would a person who is ignorant of psychic phenomena react if they happenedto undergo such a psychic evolution? If this happening to individuals, is it possible that the Earth could be moving towards a new stage in human development?

I have heard of such a thing to happen regarding a woman's periods. Times of menstruation apparently results in a heightened psychic awareness according to some.

From my personal experiences I do believe that there are times and periods in which our psychic energy increases without the sole focus of working for it etc... There are so many reasons and possibilities for this. The earth is always moving into a new stage of human development that is indeed a constant. As more people become aware and uplift and heighten their energy and awareness this makes it easier for others to awaken as well so the more people work at it, the more people that are aware the more that others awaken without such work but the awakening they receive also can only go so far as we do need to work at our skills and such. It happens daily to people who are "ignorant" of psychic experience and many people deal with it in many different ways. Some freak out and shun it and look for something to escape from it and some embrace it and look to learn about it and enhance it. For me. Recently I have had such a spike in energy. While I do work at my psychic self constantly this was something that I didnt necessarily have to to do much psychic work to experience. I recently adopted a vegan-ish diet and within a day I was able to channel stronger and I started to receive visions without calling them up. When I am communicating with friends who are quite awakened and spiritual I don't have to really focus on certain things and my energy spikes up and is able to do something I may not normally do without that added inspiration or boost. There are many reasons for this growing psychically without consciously doing the work but there comes a point where each individual is given a crossroads, one path leads to the development of their newfound gifts/skills and the other leads back to where they once came.

I too have experienced a great spike in my psychic energies, which I suppose is what inspired this topic. For me, the spike was very serious, with many psychic experiences a day for several days a row. It felt almost as if I was living more in one of the spiritual planes rather than this physical one. My Lina reported a similar spike in her psychic energies around the same time. It has made me want to search for a trigger.
WhiteFox, I have heard that as well, but have no way of personally exploring its validity. I have also heard that moon phases and proximity to large bodies of water can affect psychic ability.

But if you BELIEVE it and try hard enough, you just may experience it for realz!
Oh, if only. Had us women had the power to make men experience it, they'd probably think twice before coming up with all those crazy ideas surrounding women back then.

Im sure...im just going to be glad i dont have to experience that lol. Although I do sympathize with your attitudes toward the way women ere treated long ago. Its tragic really..

I have had a spike with my psychic like abilities too recently as mentioned above. At first, I wasn't paying too much attention to it, but once I realized what was happening, I opened my mind and spirit to welcome it in and thus made an even stronger impact by paying attention.
Whitefox, I completely agree with what you mentioned about menstrual cycles, it usually happens to heighten my abilities right before the cycle begins. And the cycle itself is never fun. LOL
I do know during certain moon phases and around particular locations my abilities also heighten. But as far as reason for this spike recently, I'm not too sure what it is. :shrugs: I know one thing though, I am not complaining!

Sometimes just being around positive people, and having a positive environment can cause a surge as well. Being in a negative environment can have the opposite effect. I know that I have gone through many a dark day, and have sometimes had big breakthroughs from simply being surrounded by goodness.

I've noticed that I tend to be more intuitive on weeks that I meditate more often. For example, during those times I've been known to answer a question right before it's asked.

I've had a recent spike two months ago around the full moon phase. Ever since then i've noticed that i'm more sensitive to psychic energy around that moon phase. It was almost as if the universe said "here's what you can do, now start practicing" lol.

My psychic abilities always spike in the two or three months leading up to Samhain. My daughter is the same.
I think there are many things, though, that can trigger your psychic growth. Engaging in rituals; a life-changing event; an out-of-body experience when undergoing an operation; a traumatic event.
I'm not sure about limits, we sometimes tend to limit ourselves even if it's subconsciously. I believe that we, here on earth, are moving towards becoming more enlightened (although sometimes it seems so slow, lol). Isn't that what "light workers" are all about?
