Um, maybe this is a li'l off topic but I didn't know where else to post it.. Look, I'm getting a pet hamster today or tomorrow (depends on if I'll find one I like at the pet store) and I am just curious: is there something I can do to sort of "bind" the hamster with some good luck or smth like that cuz the last hamster I had somehow opened its cage and fell into the chiffon and got drowned

Briganta Hi Billie. I believe Briganta mentioned a protection spell. I think that makes the most sense so the previous mishap can be avoided.
Good luck!

Greetings,
I prefer the method of..."Earth belongs to the East, Fire to the South, Water to the West, and Air to the North. This places Spirit in the Center at the axis of the other four Elements. The reason for this is First, both female Elements (Earth and Water) are placed upon the horizontal axis of the circle. Both masculine Elements (Fire and Air) are placed upon the vertical axis of the circle. The horizontal axis is traditionally ascribed to the feminine, and the vertical to the masculine. At the center, where they are joined together, we find the crossroads of the Spirit.
Secondly, when starting in the East and going deosil (clockwise) around the circle, you alternate polarities (feminine, masculine, feminine, masculine) thereby creating a smoother and better flow of energy."
I adopted this when I came across the Unicorn Tradition, and it made since to me and yes I quoted it from their website, because its worded better than what I could have said. I do not however belong to that tradition.
I have no problem doing it the more traditional way though, if I am working with those who do not see it the way I do. Its all about the energy after all.
Blessed Be, Kern

Hi all. I'm new around here but I thought I'd chip in.
I used to do a fairly lengthy circle casting when I first started out, but I didn't really enjoy it and a found it to be a chore. So after reading several books (I really am a bookworm) and talking to other people, I came up with quite a simple and quick way of casting a circle through visualisation and a few words.
My altar faces east because of the way my room in oriented. I usually sit at the altar, visualise a glowing electric-blue bubble that surrounds me and the altar and say some simple words, maybe a rhyme while I "feel" the bubble become solid. I then call the elements by using a variation of some words from one of Marianne Greens books. They appealed to me at the time so I kept them.

Hi first of all thx for all the interesting info .I am just starting out and learning many new and exciting things everyday . I have put this information in my BOS (just started it actually as I got another journal for dreams and simple spells and ideas etc.) but my BOS will be for reference .. so excuse my ignorance but just waned to ask .. as it says cast circle before spell/ritual .. do you cast a circle like this even before meditation .. as it is a ritual right?

Personally I don't cast a circle before meditation UNLESS I plan on doing a spell/ritual and it includes meditation as part of the spell/ritual or unless I feel the need for extra protection. The key would be whether or not you feel the necessity of your circle's protection.
