Well, thank you for reply, but my interest to this tradition for now is only investigational. I want to understand what is this traditon, and learn more about it. I think it's not necessarily celtic.

Im eclectic pagan. Ive incorporated many different paths, some I just dont like, so I choose not to use it, just a vibe of sorts, but other things intrigue me and I use them. I do things my way, using most standard things ~ tools and such. I seem to learn something new everyday, I dont think you ever stop walking your path, there are so many things yet to be discovered. I guess thats why I never (boxed) myself into any one thing or belief. I do my thing and if I stumble upon something new and I like it, ill use it. Thats one reason I like Michael's spell of the month, and his blog, he can really get me thinking.
And you never know next month I could change my mind, maybe just because I read something and want to use it. So defo eclectic

I didn't see anything on the Reclaimers tradition, unless it's in amongst the reconstructionist section. I only bring it up because they hosted a wonderful group ritual at the scottish paganfed conference this year and i'm having a look into their tradition.

I'm not familiar with it - is it Wiccan-based or something else?

It started in the 80's. Starhawk and Diane Baker decided to teach classes in Wicca, i think the actual rituals are fey/fae/feri based but they also tend to get involved in politics. I found a pretty good article on it on Witchvox. I'll see if i can dig up the link to it. Found it! http://www.witchvox.com/va/dt_va.html?a ... ds&id=3212

Thank you, now that I read the article I remember reading about it and on doing a bit of research realized it wasn't my type of thing. Ya don't hear much about it these days but obviously they're still going strong.

The triple deity invocation is quite interesting, it adds a bit more energy to their rituals. They seemed like a nice bunch anyway.

Reclaiming was one of my girlfriends research projects that interested her but what little bitty bit I saw back a few years ago didn't seem to be my cup of tea either ~ I read part of the Witchvox article before I was distracted by something (seems like I have 10 projects all at once these past few days and I'm not getting very many of them finished!) but I noticed the article was dated in 2001 so I checked out the link at the bottom and it appears that the author is at least actively blogging - didn't give myself time to explore further, but it does seem that she would be one of the founding members of this particular chapter/evloved tradition as it is today.

rowanspring wrote: Thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate it. I did some research last night and came across info on celtic witchcraft. I think maybe I will go with that there is something appealing however I may tweak a few things! I agree taking from each to make my own but I guess I just need a base to start from. If anyone has any info on celtic witchcraft please let me know! Unfourtunatly I have been misled in the pass by certain people who make things sound really great but talk in circles and have no basis or correct knowledge of what they are attempting to preach. So I guess that is why I am a little confused and timid. Please bear with me. For this reason, that is why I love this website. Because everyone is not saying they know the "secret" whatever that is and everyone is unbiased. I think that is absoulutly wonderful. What I have done since my Pagan "rebirth" is take one tradition, learn it, follow it, and practice for the space of 3 months to a year. This allows me to familiarise myself with that tradition's practices and beliefs as well as get practice with actual 'practice'. After I've spent an adequate amount of time in that tradition I will usuall compile everything that I connected with in that tradition and moved on. I have done this with Celtic, Asatru (mostly Runic divination), and Seax Wica. Currently I am learning Magicka's tradition. But please understand I don't just leave a tradition forever, I always reference back to it and eventually I will come home to a tradition. I think in this I am a true ecclectic.
