What would it be?
Are there any burning questions on your mind about a particular path or religion? It doesn't even have to be Pagan - anything at all - even particular practices.
Ever wonder why a particular religious group does something a certain way or what they believe?
Ask here. And perhaps someone will know the answers. Blessings

Hmm. For Catholics: Why do you need to go to a confessional to repent your sins? Why, if you worship God, can't you repent to Him directly on your own?

I have one question that I love asking people of any religion - what does your god(s) mean to you?
I love hearing people's life philosophies in this way and learning of paths chosen, it's fascinating.

I think I would just ask the ever so general why. Why that religion?

I must warn you, if you ask this to one of the religious-salespeople that knock on doors all the time, better pull up a chair and some food, cause it's gonna be a while.

That does help me understand it a bit better, actually. I think I can understand why they're used.
Thank you so much for answering!!

I think if I knew a Muslim well enough, I would ask them if Allah is a part of their everyday consciousness, or if he's more of a distant figure that must be addressed only at certain times in certain ways...and how they feel about that. From what little I know, I've gotten the impression that it's more the latter.

I would ask a hardcore fire and brimstone fundamentalist (like Mormon or Jehova's Witness): what makes everyone else so wrong, so evil?

I don't think Mormon would be an appropriate association there...sure, there's fundamentalists WITHIN mormonism, but Mormons in general? Naw, they're not that much of a freak-out, relative to other Christian groups.
I always think of Puritans when I think of fundamentalism; to me they seemed to be the very definition of that.

Sorry I wasn't too clear on what I meant, I mean I would like to ask a fundamentalist of those two denominations which at the core are really....what's the word "hardcore". I would settle for a Bible-Belt Baptist with a love for debating for hours on end =D

There is one on the Werelist actually (if you've heard of that forum). He certainly has lots to say on the subject.

Flame,
My Mother is a baptist. I went to a baptist church. They are very......set in their ways, like most christian faiths. Honestly though, if asking a baptist why they are right, I am afraid the answer, from a hardcore southern baptist would be, because you are a sinner in gods eyes and you are going to go to hell. For the plain and simple fact that you do not believe in "god" the same way they do. I have found over the years that most christians are not very open minded about anything beyond what the holy bible tells them.
Please do not take my explaination above as crass or prejudice. I was afraid for many years that I was going to go to hell, simply because that is what the church taught. At least that is the message I got repeatedly as a child when I attended her church. I guess maybe that is part of the reason I am here. There are many reasons.
Hope this helps.
Stay dry Flame.........waiting for another thunderstorm to come my way!!!
Blessings,
Aerowynn

My question would be, if there is truth to the editing of the holy bible, which I am sure there is, Why can't christians read it?? Christianity is sopposed to be about the truth, the one true way. If parts of the bible are missing, where are they and why were they banned??
I find this of interest. It is like getting the instruction book but some of the directions are missing..............
Blessings to all,
Aerowynn
