Hello all!
Please see below my research project for Lesson 1. Comments and criticism are welcome!

Research Project 1
Feri Tradition ----
The Feri Tradition is a tradition of modern witchcraft, and although some Wiccan groups refer to themselves as 'Fairy', it is not a tradition of Wicca. It is an oral tradition and does not have an authorised book of lore. Some witches use the old spelling of 'Faery' to distinguish themselves from the more publicly known practitioners.
The Feri Tradition was founded by Victor and Cora Anderson, who began teaching a form of the tradition during the 1940s. The name 'Faery' was originally used by Gwydion Pendderwen, who is considered another founding member, but the name was later changed to Feri.
Feri witches often refer to themselves as 'Fey' or 'on the road to Faeryland', and believe that much of reality is unseen. They have a deep respect for the wisdom of nature, a love of beauty and a strong emphasis on sensual experience and awareness.
The core beliefs of the Feri Tradition include the concept of a human body and a triune soul, consisting of the Fetch, the Talker and the Godself. They believe in an energy ecology, and never to give away or waster personal energy.
A fluid approach to sexuality and gender form one of the main characteristics of the tradition and the main deity, The Goddess, is in fact considered to be both male and female.
The tradition has no organisational structure, although covens and solitary practitioners do exist. It follows no degree system, and does not allow self-initiation. Initiation into the tradition is strict, and can only be performed by someone who is already a Feri initiate.
----
Seax-Wicca ----
Seax-Wicca was founded in 1973 by Raymond Buckland and is inspired by Anglo-Saxon paganism. This tradition honours the deities Woden and Freya as representations of the Horned God and the Mother Goddess. Runes are significant and are regularly discussed.
The tradition allows self-initiation, and Covens use a democratic system to elect, un-elect and re-elect Coven Officers (usually 4 officers), the High Priest and the High Priestess. The High Priest and High Priestess serve for 13 Full Moons (1 year).
During Rituals, a Thegn (a type of watchman/quard) is responsible for the Covenstead, and a Scribe keeps most, if not all, of the Coven's records.
