BrighidBrighid is mostly known as a Celtic Goddess from Ireland, Wales, Spain and France. She is also known as the Triple Goddess, encompassing the maiden, mother and crone. Being strong and wise, she is often seen as a warrior goddess and protector of children. Brighid was the daughter of Dagda, and her name means “the exalted one”. Brighid is associated with the first beginnings of Spring and the Sabbat Imbolc is associated with Brighid. She is a creative soul that inspires creativity through poetry, as well as other arts and crafts, and smithcraft. Brighid is also known as the Goddess of fire and fertility. It is said that she leans over the cradles of small children to protect them and is often invited in the home during labor to protect and watch over mother and child during birth. Brighid is also know for animal husbandry, and is often depicted with a cow by her side. Lambs are also sacred to Brighid. The Brighid’s Cross is a representation of the sun (wheel of fire), showing the fire aspect of Brighid. These are often made to honor her, as well as corn dollies, during Imbolc. Brighid later was recognized by the Catholic church and turned into the Saint, St Brighid. There is now an exclusive all female priesthood at Kildare that tends to the ever burning fire in honor of Brighid. There are nineteen priestess that watch over the fire, representing the nineteen months of the Celtic “Great Year”. Call upon Brighid to help you in matters of Agriculture, Animals, Arts and Crafts, Childbirth, Creativity, Domestic Arts, Fertility, Fire, Healing, Health, Hearth, Home, Inspiration, Knowledge, Magic, Martial Arts, Medicine, Metalworking, The Moon, Motherhood, Poetry

Cernunnos Cernunnos is the great Celtic God, also known as the Horned God, The Great Father, and the Green Man among other names. He is often seen sitting cross legged in a meditative position. He has cloven hooves, a man’s body, a long beard, long flowing hair and horns or antlers upon his head. He often is seen holding a spear or a shield. He is usually seen naked except for a neck torque, which is a Celtic symbol of nobility, and purse filled with coins representing his riches and state in life. Otherwise known as the “Lord of Animals” or the “Lord of the Hunt”, Cernunnos is often seen with horned animals such as the stag, bull, or a serpent with ram’s horns. He is the God of the hunt, of virility, fertility, physical love, animals and the woodlands. Protector of the forest, and master of the hunt. Cernunnos reflects the seasons of the year in his cycle of life, death and rebirth. He is often linked to a maiden Goddess, such as Brighid as her consort. His time of rebirth is often celebrated around the Sabbat Beltaine where he is married to the Goddess. His death happens around the time of the Summer Solstice, signify the end of the long days of sun and where we begin to go into a darker part of the year. Call upon Cernunnos in matters of Agriculture, Animals, Brewing, Commerce, Fertility, Forests, Healing, Herbs, Hunting, Journeys, Martial Arts, Medicine, Men, Mountains, Nature, Passion, Prosperity, Reincarnation, Sexual Activities, Strength, Vegetation, Wine and Woodlands.

I recently purchased a Besom and was wanting to "sweep" our apartment of any negativity. This research project was a perfect oppourtunity to actually do this.
Ground and Centre
Focus on building the energy around you and into you to focus on the work ahead. I like to picture a pale blue light that comes from the Earth and Skies and fills me, and also forms a sort of shield/bubble around me to protect me. (Think Glenda the Good Witch floating down in her pink bubble. Corny, maybe but it works)
Pick up your broom/besom and literally sweep around the whole area to be cleansed (in this case it was my whole apartment). Make sure to get every corner, nook and cranny.
"Sweep, sweep, sweep this place God and Goddess rid this place of negativity As I sweep I cleanse this space As I will it, so mote it be"
I repeated this the whole time while sweeping. I started at the back of the house and swept the negative energy all the way to and OUT the front door.
Visualise
I visualized any negative energies as black dust/ash that had to be swept out.
Release
I released the negative energy out the front door, locked it and placed the broom bristles up by the front door to collect/prevent any future negativity from entering the home. I then grounded adn released my energy back into the earth/skies.
