One of my friends asked me to find a recipe or spell or anything that'll help her immune system. She's spent more time sick then not sick for the past year or two. I guess she never really got over some sickness, I'm not sure. Any ideas? Thanks! :D

Merry Meet Treehugger,

I don't know of any herbal recipes or spells that you can do for your friend but if you can get a piece of Lapis Lazuli and make it into a necklace for them, that should help her out with her immune system. It also Benefits the respiratory and nervous systems and the throat,Larynx, and thyroid and heals much much more in the body.

It must be worn above the diaphragm so a neck lace with do quiet nicely.

I hope this helps and I will consult my herb book to find any thing else that might help you out.

Blessed Be

Velum.

elderberry is also a wonderful immune booster as is of course echinacia. Also, if she feels something coming on, advise her to take extra vitamin C as well as golden seal. :D

I find that if at the first sign of sickness to begin taking 1,000 miligrams of vitamin C 4X per day-- for 4,000 milligrams in the day. This usually tips the balance so that the cold/flu virus just can't proliferate in your body any more. Another important item is coconut oil 1 teaspoon a day or 1 tablespoon for people with auto immune disorders. Coconut oil has a special fatty acid that actually disolves the protective coating of a virus which then allows your bodys natural defenses to surround and devour it.

A huge factor in being well is attitude and focus. Focus on being well, wanting to be well, how being well feels and all the things you like to do when you are well. Don't mention sickness in your self talk or in your words to others, only talk about being well.

If you can get some human milk, freshly squeezed if possible  (frozen and thawed is great too, but fresh is best) that can really help - I know it may seem weird to some people though  I am a breastfeeding mum so I have easy access to it, whenever I wake up with a bit of a sore throat, I just express a bit, just a medicine cup/shot glass full, and it works a treat. And I also take a mega-dose of vitamin C and Zinc.

Like I say, some people might find this weird  But, it is the only food specifically designed solely for human consumption.

Breast fed babies are protected against illnesses because they receive their mother's immunities via the breast milk. But I can't see how drinking your own breast milk would assist you at all!

Ginseng also works great in warding off the common cold, especially if taken in conjunction with vitamin C. Be careful with the vitamin C, though...Too much is not a good thing, and can cause severe gastrointestinal distress!

This is true, most people will get diarrhea if they take more than 4,000 milligrams in a day. Fortunately, 4,000 milligrams does the trick for most people.

On the topic of breast milk, there are some products out there that many swear by made of colostrum. I haven't tried it but have tried many things to avoid antibiotics. I will make up a list of things that have helped me and post it here later.

This maybe a bit late but here are a couple of recipes I have:

Elderberry Syrup

2 cups dried elderberries

1 quart boiling water

¼ cup honey

¼ cup lemon juice

Place berries in an uncovered saucepan and pour boiling water over them. Cover and let soak overnight.

The next day, simmer the berries for 30 minutes.

Purée the warm berries in a blender, adding remaining ingredients as you blend. Pour the syrup into a clean bottle, and store it in the refrigerator.

I haven't tried this but I'd like to. If anyone tries it let us know how it worked out.

Here's where I got the recipe, they say it is from the Rodale book "Herbs for Health and Healing"

is it cold in here,
or is it just you?

Re: Elderberry Syrup Recipe - fight colds and flu, make your own, save money, and Master Tonic Recipe, natural antibiotic Quote

.
MASTER TONIC - A Natural Antibiotic
.
Raw Unfiltered Unbleached Non-distilled Apple Cider Vinegar (Braggs)
1 part fresh chopped garlic cloves
1 part fresh chopped White Onion (or hottest onions)
1 part fresh grated Ginger Root
1 part fresh grated Horseradish Root
1 part fresh chopped Cayenne Peppers
or the hottest peppers available, i.e. habanero, African Bird, or Scotch
Bonnets, etc.
.
-------------------------------------------------
.
Fill a glass jar 3/4 of the way full w/equal parts by volume (i.e. a
cupful each) of the above fresh chopped and grated herbs.
.
Then fill jar to the top with RAW, Unfiltered, unbleached, non-distilled
apple cider vinegar. Close and shake vigorously and then top off the
vinegar if necessary.
Shake at least once a day for two weeks, then filter the mixture through
a clean piece of cotton (old T-shirt, etc.), bottle and label. Make sure
that when you make this tonic that you shake it every time you walk by
it, a minimum of once per day.
.
Remember that all the herbs and vegetables should be fresh (and
organically grown if possible) and use dried herbs only in an emergency.
.
This tonic is extremely powerful because all the ingredients are fresh.
It's power should not be underestimated. This formula is a modern day
plague tonic and when added to an incurable routine it can cure the most
chronic conditions and stubborn diseases. it stimulates maximum blood
circulation, while putting the best detoxifying herbs into the blood.
This formula is not just for the sniffles, it has helped to turn around
the deadliest infections like some of the new mutated killer viruses
that defy conventional antibiotics.
.
The dosage is 1/2 to 1 ounce, two or more times daily (1-2 Tbs.). Gargle
and swallow. (DON'T DILUTE with WATER.)
.
For ORDINARY infections, 1 dropper full taken 5-6 times a day will deal
with most conditions. It can be used during pregnancies, is safe for
children (use smaller doses and as a food is completely non-toxic. Make
up plenty as it does NOT need refrigeration and LASTS INDEFINITELY
WITHOUT ANY SPECIAL STORAGE CONDITIONS.
.
Ingredient properties:
-Garlic cloves (anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral,
anti-parasitical)
-White Onion, or hottest onions available (similar properties to garlic)
-Ginger Root (increases circulation to the extremities)
-Horseradish Root (increases blood flow to the head)
-Cayenne Peppers, or the hottest peppers available, i.e. habanero,
African Bird, -or Scotch Bonnets, etc. (a great blood stimulant).
Pro-biotic: antiviral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-parasitical.
.
(Comes from The University of Natural Healing: Dr. Richard Schultzs'
adaption of Dr. Christophers' original anti-plague tonic)
.
They added: Start a batch on the new moon and end it on the new moon.
You can even let it go two months.

The Vinegar of the Four Thieves is a super-strong insect repellent. It should be diluted with water to half strength if you spray it directly on your skin. This repellent can be used many ways. Splashed on your socks or shoes will discourage ticks, chiggers, and mites. An herbal cloth kept in your pocket and rubbed on your skin ever hour or so would be very beneficial during outdoor work or recreation. Or, a nightly bath with a little herbal vinegar and oil will keep it on your skin for many hours and could prove helpful for families who live in the country or while out on camping trips.

Ingredients
2 tablespoons Rosemary
2 tablespoons Rue
2 tablespoons Sage
2 tablespoons Lavender
2 tablespoons Wormwood
2 tablespoons Peppermint
2 tablespoons fresh, chopped garlic
2 quarts of apple cider vinegar
Directions
Combine 12 tablespoons of the premixed herbs and 2 quarts of vinegar in a sealed glass jar, and steep in the sun for 2 weeks or so, shaking daily. Then, strain out the used herbs, and retain the herbal liquid mixture.

Add several cloves of crushed garlic, and seal again. Let soak for three days, and strain out the garlic fiber and discard.

This liquid tincture needs to be stored in a cool place, like the refrigerator, or it can be preserved by canning. Fill canning jar with boiling liquid tincture to within one-half inch of top. Cap with rubber seal canning lid, tighten ring, and turn hot jar upside down; leave it undisturbed until it cools to room temperature. This will cause the jar to seal. Don’t forget to date and label it.

Also, can make a tincture from Olive Leaf. Here is a link to info on it:

Many blessings to all!

Hope your friend heals soon! :D

Yes, it is. Onions and leeks are also beneficial for the immune system as is flaxseed (organic cold pressed) and rosehips tea. The latter is very rich in vitamin C. Rosemary, used in cooking, soups, stews, etc. And Cumin and Tumeric.

Yogurt and anything with acidophylis or similar Lacto-Bacili are great for boosting the immune system.
The large bowel has more lymph nodes around it than any other part of the body. The lymph system cleans out the system and is a major part of the immune system.

The large bowel has a group of different bacteria (the good bacteria) that keep the body healthy. If it were not for these bacteria our blood would not clot. They produce Vitamin K out of substances they digest.

Yogurt and Acidophylis products have been shown to be especially good at eliminating yeast infections.

Blessed Be
