I'm extremely skeptical 
At the very least, I doubt it would be a skill that's easy to access by most people. Moving things by the force of the mind/mind's energy to that degree would require a huge amount of training, focus and dedication, which is something many people are not willing or even able to do.

I believe that it can be done but as WhiteFox said it takes a tremendous amount of practice, focus and will. I put in a lot of time on it years ago and had little result so I decided to leave it for another lifetime!!
I do know someone who can do this but her training in The Craft, hypnosis and other modalities is very indepth.

It is something that takes an extreme amount of self discipline and training, as others have stated.
I'm not skeptical about it, I just believe this isn't something you're going to see very often, because of the skill and technique required to do it.

I would recommend the movie 'Phenomenon' starring John Travolta.
It opened my eyes a bit to the concept and made me 'less' of a skeptic.

When I tempt telekinesis I just feel and visualize my aura or energy reaching out and touching the object. It takes alot of energy and meditation once the object moves you need to keep your focus and not get excited. I can only move a pen when I use controled telekinesis (practice) However I have cause the car to speed up with my grandmother driving wanted her to go fast (late for practice about 4 years ago.) I felt something leave me and hit the gas peddle next thing I know where speeding down the street my grandmother turns to me and asked if I felt that. Of course I did.
