Hey everyone,

So I got up this morning like any normal day, went and fed the cat, used the washroom, etc. and when I came back into my room, a candle was lit.

I live alone, and can't understand how this could have happened. I'm thoroughly confused, and once I went through all "logical" explanations with no answer I thought I'd come here and see if anyone has any ideas.

I lit the candle for a while yesterday but I know it was definitely out when I went to bed last night.

Any ideas??

Might have been a clever ghostie! Seriously though, are you sure you didn't light it before going off to feed the cat, etc?

What was the candle used for - were you using it in a meditation? What came through in the meditation - maybe it was a message about the meditation.

do you have any ghostly house guests on a regular basis? someone could have lit it to say "hello" or "good morning". my other thoughts would be deity, lighting it in your sleep (possible albeit odd,lol...) or even a fire elemental you might not have released correctly after a ritual/circle.
on another note, i have had candles that ive been using recently re~light themselves after i blew them out. idk if the wick was still very hot or what, but it has happened to me anyways

Should have thought about that myself, lol, about the fire elemental, it's definitely a possibility.

And yes, I've had candles re-light themselves, too. I wonder if it's a certain type of candle that tends to do that.

Hey everyone, thanks for the replies.

I'm thinking that there is a possibility that when I put the candle out before bed, it re-lit itself some time in the night while it was still hot, and I just didn't notice it when I first got up.

That's the only explanation I can fathom lol..

I was only using it for the scent when I had it lit, and I've never used that particular candle for any ritual or meditation per say, but .. I did hang a pentagram on the wall directly above it earlier that day, perhaps there was some kind of energy interaction there...I have no idea. I'm not good at this stuff
