I haven't drawn a chart in a while, but I sat down to do one and I know I'm missing a step in the math part of the equation. I know I use the sidereal time table first, then add the time of birth plus the accleration, but I can't remember how I figure in the Longitude and latitude/ or adjusting for GMT. Can you help?
I'm not sure I'm going to explain this correctly but here goes...I've always drawn charts counterclockwise starting at the 9 o'clock position. I was at a gathering tonite and one of the participants said she was taught that while the houses went in counterclockwise, the astrological signs placed on the houses went in clockwise. the only way this makes sense to me is if you were born in the southern Hemisphere. Has anyone ever heard of doing Natal charts this way?

Hi Kisja,
I read your question, unfortuantely it's been quite awhile since I cast a chart for myself or anyone else. In the past, I remember having a degree-time conversion chart of some type so you know how many minutes to add or subtract for degrees east or west of GMT in your calculations. The only suggestion I have is to check the Astro Dienst site :
www.astro.com
It offers comprehensive intructions of casting a horoscope, they also have a forum with loads of very specific information about creating and interpreting your charts. I've never heard about any planetary aspects being reversed in the southern hemisphere-although I'm learning many things, like seasons, are reversed 'down under', so maybe the houses are...I'd check with this site. Good Luck!
ETA: If you prefer, you can also plug into their software-free-and it will do any adjustments in the calculations for you.

Thanks, so much...I really prefer to do all my own figuring, but time right now is at a premiun. I guess I'll have to break out my old astrology study books and "refresh" my memory a bit. Astrodienst is the most accurate site that I have found, I don't know where some of those other sites get thier information, but they totally had my chart whacked.

I know what you mean. Especially when you've had a natal chart done before and already know your basic info. I was on a site once that kinda left me scratching my head, thinking "Who's chart is this? Not mine! These people can't be serious...Are they?" After double checking the info I'd entered for typos...1...2x, with the same results, I realized it was the site failing...and not my memory.

First Question: you add the number of freckles ion your forearm to the number of hairs in the clients nose and multiply by the length of your index finger, that should do it.
Second Question. It would make sense if you are in teh Southern Hemisphere but only on teh second tuesday of each week. Otherwi8se you will do it normally, except when yo have seen a deer within seven days of making the chart.

I know very little about astrology, except basic intro dtuff I was taughgt many years ago and that I teach to my students actually.
