I thought it would be a great idea to list spells, prayers, and rituals that we do to portect our most valuable gems. Our Children!
Part of being a capricorn is- being a worry wort. So it sets my mind at ease a bit when I cast a protection spell for my son.
Here are a few:
To Protect Children
Throw a handful of earth or sand after them as they leave, without their knowledge. This will ensure their safety.
An Earth Protection Bottle
Into a small bottle pour fresh clean soil. Fill it to the top and cap it. Place this bottle near the entrance, preferably in a window to guard against evil entering your home.
To Vanquish Fear (good for night-terrors and worry worts  )
(South Wind) Light a yellow candle in doors and sit in a quiet contemplation for a second. See the candles flames drawing in your fear and anxieties; see it and the candle becoming infused with them. Take the candle outside and let the wind vanquish the flame. It is done.
Protective Stone
Take a small H-vibration stone and hold in power hand for several minutes sitting on bare earth. Chant the following in a low voice, while staring at the stone.
Stone, evil you shall deny
Send it to Earth and sky
Send it to the flame and sea
Stone of power protect me!
(Now carry the stone with you it will absorb your own vibrations and release its own energies to form a protective barrier to surround you)
There are also protective runes, I usually work with these for protection.

This is good. Ikinda did this for my son who is 5 yrs.old and was always scared. I believe I have taken care of that problem. I say a blessing that I have shared on a different forum, plus I gave him a talisman that he picked out. Since he has been wearing it it is like nothing can hurt him or scare. I also did a home protection spell too. I believe that we had an unfriendly spirit. Ever since I did the Protection spell none of us have seen it. It was like a shadow. Although now I see a shining one. No one else seems to see it though.
Oops! Kinda strayed. Sorry.
Anyways, this is good idea.

I thought I would share a couple of things we do for our kids and grandkids.
Monster spray....spring water and lavender essential oil in a spray bottle...spray in bedroom when going to bed for little ones who are scared or worried.
We also make God's Eyes and Brighid's crosses at Litha and Imbolc and the kids all have them in their rooms.
A little prayer...
Here I'm safe
Here I'm warm
Here I'm sheltered from the storm
I can close my eyes and breathe
All my worries will now leave
Cradled in the Mother's arms
I am safe from any harm
Lady of the Moon
Lord of the Sun
Protect me and mine
Now day is done

I used to give my son a "magic" crystal at night if he was scared. I'd just give him a rounded piece of rose/amethyst/white quartz. He would hold it soooooooo tight and then fall right asleep! Best magic crystals i ever bought!!! LOL!!!

i like the idea of the monster spray, i might use that for my daughter, who is scared of something in her room. i've made her a fairy door so the dream fairies can come and give her good dreams, but haven't had a chance to put it up yet!

A parents prayer for their children
Keep and eye on my son Hera,
As the day goes by,
Whether I am with him or not.
Okay, yeah, I know its not that long, but who cares?

I used to give my son my Dad's Marine Corps ring and dog tags to sleep with under his pillow at night. He wanted to be a soldier, and I didn't have a ring. lol So ... Grandpa protected him through his ring and dog tags.
Now as they get on the bus, I just ask:
Please keep them safe, and help them make safe decisions.
They're getting older and I can't be with them every step of the way, but like most Mum's ... they're still my babies. lol

WOW! It has been a very long time since I have responded or even been on Magicka; but i do still read everything when I get a reply to a post I've responded too!
Anyways, my son is now 9 years old. He has grown so much and developed into a great young man. His room is now filled with all sorts of dragons (and he will tell about each and every one and what their finction is). It first started when he was 5 yrs. old and my father (his grandpa) sent him "PETE - the dragon" to protect him. Pete is a windchime that hangs inside his room beside a window. Pete's eyes look like they follow you everywhere you go in his room. My father wrote a protection spell for my son to use when he feels the need.
He also Kwan Yin (in rose quartz) on his bedside table. He bought her at his first Pagan/Spirit Fair last year:)
Just having something that your child can hold too (whether in their heart or by having something physical there) helps alot!
I say little prayers everyday for my son while at school, to do good in school, and help him find friends:)
Nothing in particular i say...I go with the moment:)

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the 120th day after conception prayer? I would like something to take to a blessing for my girlfriends pregnancy.

You can write Psalm 127 on a piece of parcment and put it in a leather pouch for protection. Add a piece of lapis lazuli to prevent miscariage. Have her carry it with her. And here is a prayer from my prayer book.
Matronae Three, sitting so gently
I will need both gentleness and strength within the days ahead
Aid me as I become a mother.
You know well what that means.
May I know also.
