There are many things that go into the making of a Witch. The whole process can take years. The journey could be compared to the journey of a caterpillar who eventually changes/transforms into a beautiful butterfly. Some say Witches are born and I believe that some are but they still have to 'remember' the how's and why's. There are a few things that a person starting out on the path should be able to do.
Learn how to recognize and connect with land energy or serpent energy, some call it sprowl. This energy grows stronger or weaker with the seasons.
Learn how to gather energy and direct it - your spells will work all the better when you know how to do this.
Learn what certain plants and herbs can do for you, magically speaking.
Become familiar with the seasonal tides and the pull of the moon's energy.
Remember magic is all around you every day, not just when you're in circle.
Know yourself.
Meditate and learn to communicate with yourself on a deep inner level, and also with your guides.
Learn to trust yourself.

I  This! So very true too. I think it's important for people to realize that while you may be a Born Witch that means absolutely nothing to start. You could of been a Witch in a past or future life but that has no meaning on this life until you awaken and work with it. You still need to 'remember' and 're-train' yourself in the present time.
I also think Knowing yourself is highly overlooked these days as well as the ability to discern!

I love this too, as someone near the start of their journey your post is very thought provoking. I'd never considered the tides etc but will make a point of learning about it. Thanks

You know, I'd like to add that this forum has been integral in the making of this witch. With all of my gifts, talents and beliefs I thought strange, when I first joined this forum, I could scarcely utter the "W" word... It's so amazing to have somewhere to go, where everyday, I interact with people who I can use that word openly. Having that freedom over these last few years has really broadened my viewpoints and my horizon.

Yes, it's always good to be able to "be yourself" isn't it And Elia, that's a good point too - no matter how much you know it's always good to realize that there's always more to learn. I hope I come back as a Witch because there's so much more that I want to learn, lol. Briganta

I do think infinity becuase everyday new stuff is being found within our world. I would have to say there is really no ending to learning everything. Also we can't say we know it all becuase there is questions yet to have answers. Also there are some things we will never know about the world we live in. So my answer is you will never know it all.
