Wishing everyone a Blessed Beltane, I hope all of you danced around the lilac tree this morning and collected the morning dew. Lucky for me there was a light drizzle of rain , so there was lots of water to wash my face in.

The Sun King has grown and impregnated Mother Earth and the crops are growing and flourishing as should our plans that were decided upon during the winter months and planted (begun) in Spring. It is a time of strength as on the longest day light triumphs. However, the light begins to fade into the dark as the Lord of Light begins his decline into the underworld only to be reborn at the Winter Solstice.

Is it just me or is communicating with spirits easier this time of year too? Last night, someone brushed past me in my house in the pitch black and no one was out and about except me. I've been having lots of experiences like that for maybe a week now and they're getting stronger as Litha is coming nearer.

Oh, for sure. The Summer Solstice is one of the festivals where the veil between the worlds is thinner. I've started to notice a few things too.

Make a traditional pancake (shaped into sunbursts!) breakfast on Litha morning and start celebrating the day with the traditional foods of Litha ~ butter, milk, cakes and honey, representing the Sun God at the height of his reign.
If you have the Witches' Datebook 2012 ~ refer to page 77 for a Sun God Supreme recipe that you can use ~ enjoy!

Merry Meet to all: I understand that the Sabbat Litha will be observed on June 21st! This will be my first Sabbat observance/celebration. I am not sure what I should be doing to honor Mother Earth at this special time. Please share with me your insight as to how I may do this effectively. I am very new to Wicca and don't have alot of skills or supplies acquired yet. Thanks to all for your support.

I believe this year Solstice lands on the 20th  Abundance is the energy therefore you can focus on things of that nature. Also Fiery energies, colors, tools, items etc.. Spicy foods would be nice There are many things you can do each individual has their preference and it is indeed personal so I'd say look to what the Solstice means to you, what the Fire Qualities in life are to you and how best you can honor them.
