For forum only ideas that dont quite fit into a category.
Current suggestion:
- Addition of age, sex, marital status in profile.

I'd also like to see astrological signs added-perhaps even to profiles that show in the post, say, just below the avatars?
I think 'signs' might be as much, if not more, relevent than marital status-this isn't a dating site, after all-right? Maybe I'm here for different reasons than some...
Age and gender I'm okay with but think perhaps all should be optional since some are not as comfortable as others giving out certain info.

I most certainly agree that astrological sign is more relevant than marital status for this site. I wouldn't mind age or gender either. I think gender would be most nice since there's really no way to tell sometimes.

Age and marital status are of no interest to me either..... I can be 18 one day and my real age the next lol But sun signs would be really cool.....

Yes, gender would be most helpful in some cases. I almost slipped up on the gender thing...after finding out this member was female-I went back through all my PMs to her to make sure I didn't indicate otherwise! LOL
I really don't know why Cassandra thinks age should be of any concern in her case... Gimme a break...LOL

What about implementing the "Karma" feature of some vBulletin boards?
If anyone doesn't know - it's basically a 'rating' feature you can use to 'rate' a member's post - if they something in a post that you like or agree with...you can sort of give them 'kudos' by clicking on a small link in their profile box to add a point of 'good Karma'...and if they say something you dislike, you can likewise click on a small link to add a point of 'bad Karma' lol

Ooh - Are you talking about the "exalt/smite" function?
I think that would be a good idea - But I think that it would be good to disable the smite function, else people might end up with bad "karma points" all over the place from misunderstandings or heated debates, and then newcomers to the website might steer clear of the members because of their negative karma points.

Yeah, I think the karma funtion works best when it's just a positive thing. One site I'm on has it where you can give someone kudos for a posting along with a reason but there's no negative version. It's good as it stops it getting abused in the heat of the moment.

I've seen that too, greenfae, a 'thanks' function, when you appreciate a certain post you can click to give thanks.

oooo, i do like the karma and sunsign functions!! i wouldn't mind the sex/age thing. age maybe can be disabled if someone doesn't like it? but i have to agree with what has been said before, i very nearly made a big oopsy in public due to gender-confusion.

Could we have a search function for members posts - I know that I can be reading a post one day and would like to explore it further, but get lost when trying to find the post again, or as has so ofen happened I have read the phrase I responded to this in..... in stead of looking for the thread, search the for the member, that could be helpful.

edited to add: OOps ignore me, I just figured out how to do just that

Do you mean like search for posts a member has made?
There are a few ways you can do that (if I'm even understanding the question lol)...
You can select "Search" and then you will see a phrase that says "Search for Author". To the right is a box you can type in. Type the name of the person and you can then click "Search".
-OR-
You can click on the member's profile and it will pull up their information. Under the number of posts they have made on their profile page it will says "Find all posts by (person's name)".
Maybe that helps?

Also, up at the top where it says "main site, FAQ, Search" , if you select search you can enter a key word like "book of shadows" or "reincarnation" and it will list threads where the topic comes up.
