The Magicka School was set up in 2004 by Pino Longchild (aka Keith Broad) and Italian wife Chantal Santos. Together they had the dream of creating a centre for learning about all things magickal based in Italy.

Pino holds two degrees in medieval history from the University of London and for many years has taught Wicca, the Tarot and Magick. He is the author of Wicca Revealed and Wicca Advanced as well as the editor and publisher of The Magickal Light Ezine. This publication has regularly carried interviews with many famous personalities from the world of Wicca, Witchcraft and Magic, including Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone, Raymond Buckland, Maxine Sanders, Zsuzsanna Budapest and Lon Milo DuQuette. Chantal is a multi-lingual interpreter and tour guide with extensive experience in the tourist industry. Currently she is developing her other career as a jazz singer and regularly performs in Italy and the UK. She is a frequent contributor to The Magickal Light ezine.

After months of searching in Tuscany, the ideal location and building was found; a Tower House, in the magical hill-top village of Mulazzo. Nesting in the beautiful Lunigiana region close to Pontremoli, it is conveniently situated just one hour from Pisa.

This fourteenth century casa-torre, or Tower House, was built by the Malaspina family as part of the village's defensive fortifications and needed much renovation work which was carried out over the course of a year.

On completion, Pino designed the Magicka School website and a range of online courses to meet the needs of different students. Currently the site attracts 1,500 students a month and has a registered membership of over 67,000 people from all over the planet.
